I am geting around now. We have not got a letter for two months[.] I have not much to write[.] times is very dul[l] her[e] now[.] it commense[d] raining About too[two] weeks ago and is still raining[.] tell uncle Jack Clarkson and aun[t] betsy that I saw W P Clarkson yesterday[.] he lives in A half mile of us[.] I have not seen J B for over twelve months[.] me & Jony[,] John Wright[,] Gideon Wright [and] G. Haines is living to gether[.] W. belche[Belsche] is her[e] with us. provision is very high since sacrimento City got Burnt down[.] flour is 26 c[en]ts lb[,] ham and bacon is 32 to 38 cts lb.[,] But[t]er is 75 cts lb[.] you want to [hear] something about John Clevland[.] Jonathan seene him five weeks ago at diamond springs[.] Beef is 25 cts lb[,] cabig[cabbage] 10 cts lb[,] meal 15 to 20 cts[.] I would like to see you all very well[.] (2) But there is no telling when we will come home[.] prob[ab]ly in too[two] or three months[.] prolly not for twelve months.
